Ray hails from the town of Clara in Co.Offaly and has been residing in Kilkenny for the past 5 years. He works as Assistant manager in Hotel Kilkenny and was one of the founding members of Hotel Kilkenny F.C. in 1997.  Ray Started as the team goalkeeper and played there for almost 3 years before moving outfield to play in various positions including right & left back, centre half & right side of midfield, the position he currently holds in the team.
